Giovanni Contardi is an Italian artist working with Rubik’s Cubes as a contemporary medium, developing a visual language based on structure, repetition, and perception.
Background
Contardi’s relationship with the Rubik’s Cube began in 2009 through competitive speedcubing. During this period, he established himself at a world-class level, setting three world records. This technical mastery later became the foundation of his artistic practice.
In 2013, he began experimenting with Rubik’s Cube mosaics, and by 2018 this evolved into a full-time artistic practice.

His installations are permanently exhibited at the Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel (Disneyland Paris) and at the Rossini National Museum in Italy.
